Cole Cooks: Texas Brisket Rub Recipe
Over the years, in my experiments with cooking brisket, I have developed my own rub recipe. This Texas Brisket Rub Recipe is designed not only for brisket but can also be used for ribs.
This recipe was designed for our Big Green Egg Texas Brisket. The full recipe will more than cover a whole brisket of 16-pounds. For smaller portions, leftovers can be stored in a tight spice container.
You can also make this rub without the salt. This allows you to adjust the salt level as needed for each recipe.
I like to make my own chili powder. You can see the recipe here. However, if I don’t have enough on hand I have been known to use commercial chili powder.
