Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large lemons
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 thin slices onion
  • 3 cups Dr Pepper
  • 1.5 cups ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cut lemons in half and remove a ΒΌ inch slice from each lemon. Place slices in a pan. Juice the remaining lemons in the saucepan.
  • Add remaining ingredients and stir. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and let simmer about 20 minutes until thick. Taste for seasoning and adjust.
  • Put sauce through strainer and store in jars. Refrigerate.
