Cole Kid Cooks: Honey Glazed Salmon Recipe
I really like salmon. For my cooking merit badge, I decided I wanted to learn how to make a salmon dish. My mom suggested that I do a honey-glazed salmon because I also love honey. So, with the help of my mom, this is my honey glazed salmon recipe.
Honey Glazed Salmon
Ingredients
- 5 salmon filets boneless, skinless
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a small bowl combine garlic, honey, lemon and red pepper to make glaze.
- Sprinkle salmon with salt
- Turn oven to broil. Heat oil on stovetop in an oven proof skillet.
- Add salmon with skillet and coat with half of glaze. Cook for 3 minutes. Flip salmon, coat with remaining glaze and book for another 3 minutes.
- Place skillet in oven on top rack and broil for 5 minutes.
- Serve
This dish is really easy to make. You simply mix the ingredients for the glaze in to a bowl. I am starting to like things with a slight spice so I added some red pepper to my sauce. I got this idea from KFC’s hot honey chicken.
You need to make sure to pat the salmon dry with a paper towel. You also need to make sure the oil is hot before adding it to the pan.
When the oil is hot you add the fish to the pan. Spoon the glaze over the fish. Flip it after 3 minutes and add more glaze.
The final part is adding the fish to the oven. You need to be careful because it is very hot. Make sure and use oven mitts.
This recipe was one of the easiest I made. It only took a few minutes. It turned out delicious. My mom made some spinach and I served some fruit and vegetables on the side. We also cooked some rice in our rice cooker. So this was a super healthy meal. I hope you enjoy my honey glazed salmon recipe!
