Cole Cooks: Cherry Smoothie Recipe
We love making fruit smoothies. Our cherry smoothie recipe is one of our classics and is a regular go-to.

For all fruit smoothies we use a basic template which we vary for each smoothie. You can find our core fruit smoothie guide here.
We always like to use frozen fruit in smoothies. For cherry smoothies we use frozen cherries from Trader Joe’s.
Trader Joe’s also has cherry juice. However, any juice you like can be used. For a healthy smoothie some people (not us) like to use coconut water.
It should be noted that many people claim cherry juice has unique health benefits. You can see an article discussing this here.
Cherry juice can be quite tart so many people will want to add a sweetener. Our sweetener of choice is honey. However, the sweetener is optional and other sweeteners could be substituted. A good practice is to mix the smoothie, taste and add sweetener as needed.
No matter what type of smoothie you are making, a good blender is essential. When we invested in a Nutri Ninja our smoothie making really took off. Our Nutri Ninja has all kinds of buttons and settings. This includes a dedicated smoothie button I have never used. Instead we simply turn it on to medium and let it go for about a minute. We have a high-end Nutri Ninja system but they have a complete line for all budgets.
