Pizza is a complicated topic.  This is our guide to the best pizza in San Diego.  However, instead of being a straight best of list the focus is on the many types of pizza in San Diego.  If you are looking for NY-style pizza, deep-dish, a classic pizza parlor or the trendiest Italian restaurant style pizza this list has you covered.

The first thing to note is that this is a work in progress.  We continue to add places and make updates.

There are many different styles of pizza and everyone has a personal favorite.  To simplify matters, pizza is divided into four different categories based on our pizza taxonomy.  These categories include:

• New York style/thin crust
• Deep dish/thick crust
• Fancy Italian/California pizza
• Good old America pizza parlor
